“ We know that Japan is under pressure from unprecedented demand for travel services,” muses Eriko. “We can’t build more hotels or source more guides than what is available currently, but we can offer expertise, advice, recommendations and a travel product that is well thought out for each individual guest. We are not catering to all modes of tourism here so our focus is clear and our guests will benefit from the attention to detail we provide to each request.”
It is commonly accepted that Japan is slightly ‘different’ to its Asia counterparts and that its culture can easily be misunderstood. It has therefore been an important consideration in Asia Concierge’s structure to bring in individuals that can provide a bridge between East and West to put international client’s at ease. One such individual is Nanae Loose, who was raised in Japan but educated in the United States and now directs Asia Concierge’s group and events division.
Before joining Asia Concierge, Nanae developed a Client Services department that provided high end concierge experiences for luxury FIT and VIP corporate clientele and has also been instrumental in the hiring and training of some of the finest guides in Japan. In a previous role, as the Director of M&I at a leading DMC, she produced numerous exceptional events for Fortune 500 clients.
Under the management of Jarrod and Kevin, Nanae and the full team at Asia Concierge are excited about what lies ahead and, as importantly, are on board with the company’s vision and drive to make a difference in the industry. They know the standards and dedication to quality have been set by the Asia Concierge entities created before them, but there is every indication the Japan team will take the organisation to another level. If anything, that is a goal all of us strive to attain!
